We are seeking a Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or Experienced Paralegal to join our busy Family department in either  Hartlepool or Stockton. 

You must be capable of running your own caseload consisting of domestic abuse, private children matters, divorce and finance and initial advice in PLO matters is desirable. There is scope to undertake some public law cases if you have experience. 

You will work be as part of a large legal aid family law team.

This role involves meeting clients, preparing applications, representing clients at court hearings and a commitment to developing skills and knowledge in this area. 

Main duties and requirements

In addition to the above you will need to demonstrate experience in:

•    Advising clients in relation to those areas of family law. 
•    Drafting court documents including Non-Molestation and Occupation applications, warning letters, Children Act applications and statements, Divorce Petitions, Financial remedy documentation and general correspondence. 
•    Preparing cases for court hearings, including trial bundles and briefing counsel as required.
•    Undertaking advocacy at court.  
•    Applying for funding via CCMS and assessment of Legal Help cases.

You will need to have experience of working on your own cases in a Family Law department, including Legal Help cases, a genuine passion for this area of law with a commitment to providing an excellent and prompt service to the public. 

You should be a qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or an experienced Paralegal. 

You will need to have excellent time management skills and good PC and case management skills.
