Our highly successful Personal Injury department is growing and is looking for a Legal Secretary to support the busy department to ensure the lawyers are able to provide a responsive and professional service to their clients.
You will ideally have experience in a legal setting and have a good typing speed, ability to type from dictation and good telephone and email skills.
Main duties and requirements:
- Full generic secretarial support to fee earners, as required, including preparing correspondence and documents through fast and accurate audio-typing and word processing.
- Administer filing which will include daily filing; both manually and electronically.
- Opening and maintaining files on the case management system.
- Closing, storing and retrieving client files.
- Prepare mail and enclosures for dispatch.
- Arrange for all copying to be done.
- Make appointments and maintain an up-to-date diaries.
- Provide guidance to new and temporary staff when required to do so.
- Attend clients, primarily on the telephone, and provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in-keeping with the Firm’s standards for client care.
The ideal candidate would have had some experience as a legal secretary with a working knowledge of Personal Injury but we are open to applications from law graduates with excellent keyboard skills who are keen to gain more experience in a Personal Litigation environment.
This is a very busy department and this is a secretarial role, primarily focused on meeting the busy typing needs of the fee earners to ensure cases are progressing quickly for clients - applicants should be prepared for this type of work. Whilst the role is mainly typing focused, the subject matters are interesting and varied and you will be working within a large team with experienced lawyers and partners available for support.
