Exposure to asbestos
Asbestos is a group of naturally occurring minerals which are made up of heat-resistant fibres. It was used in thousands of products before the dangers of asbestos were widely known.
If you or a loved one has recently been diagnosed with an asbestos related illness, such as mesothelioma, asbestosis, pleural thickening, or lung cancer, it may be possible to pursue a compensation asbestos claim. If you have sadly lost a loved one due to an asbestos related disease, compensation may also be due.

People who have had intense or long-term exposure to asbestos are particularly at risk of getting asbestos-related diseases such as pleural thickening, asbestosis, lung cancer or mesothelioma.
Asbestos has been linked with more than a dozen diseases. The four main illnesses caused by asbestos are:
Symptoms of an asbestos-related illness often take over 40 years to develop and can include:
People who have been exposed to asbestos through their work are at the highest risk of damage to their lungs. This includes people who worked in ship building, railway engineering, factory workers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, laggers, painters, and builders to name but a few.
Secondary-asbestos exposure can also cause fatal diseases. Many wives of asbestos workers who washed overalls and other work clothing have become victims of an asbestos-related disease, despite never setting foot in a factory or construction site. We have represented a number of secondary victims of asbestos-related illness and have won significant compensation for them.
If you have been diagnosed with an asbestos-related illness, you may be able to claim compensation. You can also claim if you are a family member (such as a spouse or child) of someone who has died from an asbestos-related disease.
Because illnesses born from asbestos exposure can take decades to develop, it is common for the employer to have ceased trading. In these cases, our experts will go to great lengths to have the company temporarily reinstated where necessary in order to pursue the claim. If multiple employers could be liable, we will issue proceedings against all the parties involved.
